Comment: Cornwell successfully brings her characters to life so that I really care about them. They are not two dimensional or unrealistic side lines used as filler. Kay Scarpetta is filled with heart, brains, compassion and fearless determination while Benson, Lucy and Marino show a very human side with all the flaws and fears that accompany humanity. The science is perfectly described, not too technical or over simplified. Scarpetta is a great combination of first rate forensics and character development, which means that this author got it JUST RIGHT!

Comment: Hale, hale, the gang's all here in this new and fabulous Scarpetta novel; Benton, Lucy, Pete. I got this book from one of my friends for Christmas and I must say that this is the first year I missed the after Christmas sales!! I simply couldn't put this book down...from the first page to the last, Corwell had me hanging by a thread. Kay Scarpetta is called to do a favor for the DA in NYC and she is put into a precarious position that she would have preferred not to be in.
As science advances and forensics procedures become more precise, Patricia Cornwell keeps up with the newest technologies through hard work and research. Combine this with the development of her characters and the unsuspected ending in Scarpetta, and I am willing to bet I'm not the only fan anxiously awaiting the next installment.

Comment: This is by far the best Scarpetta novel ever. There were many new exciting characters and the favorite four were working together better than ever. I highly recommend this book.
